Holding Firmly: “We have come to share in Christ, if we hold firmly till the end, the confidence we had at first” Hebrews 3:14. It is not too hard to be convinced if we pay attention long enough to a commercial, presentation… or even a sermon. Satan speaks to the subconscious with a constant steady flow of deceitful persuasion to lead us into forgetfulness of God’s loving daily care. What happens two weeks after a revival? Do we “revive” our feelings about God rather than revive our “heart allegiance” to His will for our lives? Do you realize you share in Christ, “the heavenly calling”, “if we fix our thoughts” (verse 1), on Jesus? It’s doesn’t say revive your feelings about Jesus, those fade and will not give you the confidence you need to hold on till the end. Put no confidence in how you feel, but “fix your thoughts, hold onto your courage, hope” (verse 6) and pray over yourself not to lose that confidence you had at conversion.
